Holga 120N

All the pictures in this gallery were taken with the cheapest medium format camera available The Holga 120n. The camera uses 120 roll film in 645 or 6x6 format, I use the 6x6 mask.,The lens is noncoated and made of plastic, the camera is assembled nicely but not with any sort of precision engineering. It has a lever to fire the shutter at a standard speed of 1/100 (roughly, anyway). The shutter has a bulb setting, and it has both “cloudy day” and “sunny day” aperture settings which are approximately f/8 and f/11 respectively. Leaving aside its cheap plastic body and lens Holgas do take extraordinary unique photographs and are fun to use, they are often called a toy camera, however, in the right hands, they are a serious photographic tool.
